Embla power plant in Emdalselva is located in Stranda Municipality, Møre and Romsdal. The power plant has an annual production of about 15.7 GWh, which provides around 785 households with electricity. The power plant has been in operation since 2012.

The power plant uses a drop of 395 meters over about 2 km in Emdalselva, which is a tributary of Embla/Storelva. In consideration of the Emdal River as a landscape element and biological diversity associated with the river, the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate has set a minimum water flow of 350 l/s from 1 May to 30 September and 50 l/s for the rest of the year.

If the inflow at the intake is less than the minimum water flow requirement, the entire inflow shall be allowed to pass and the power plant shall not be in operation. The power plant shall be operated as smoothly as possible and in line with the inflow. Typical start/stop operation shall not occur.
