The power plant utilizes a drop of 302 meters, with intake at elevation 357 and power station at elevation 55. The power plant is planned to be connected to the grid via a 1 km long 132 kV line that will be connected to the existing power line between Samnanger and Øystese.
The power plant will be a positive contribution to the national investment in renewable energy. Approval of a detailed plan for the environment and landscape was approved at the end of May 2019. The construction work includes an outlet channel from the power station of approximately 50 meters. A wall has also been built against the river to prevent the entry of water into the construction pit.
The waterway is drilled by a TBM drilling machine. The machine will drill a waterway of 2043 meters with a diameter of 2600 mm. In the lower part of the tunnel, 500 meters of 1800 mm casings will be added. The casings are made of steel and will be welded together.
The power plant is estimated for production during the fall of 2021.
