Reinåa power plant is located in Meråker Municipality in Trøndelag. By utilizing a drop of 355 meters, the power plant will have an annual production of 13.4 GWh, which will provide about 600 households with electricity. The power plant is under construction.

If the inflow is less than the minimum water flow requirement, the entire inflow shall be allowed to pass. In such cases, the power plant shall not be in operation. A bypass valve with a capacity of at least 50% of the maximum discharge capacity shall be installed. If water consumption in the power plant is less than the bypass valve’s capacity, the bypass valve shall open for the amount of water that passes through the turbine in the event of a failure.
The power plant shall at all times be operated according to the inflow, all changes shall be gradual, and typical start/stop operation shall not occur.
