Tverråna power plant is located in the same building as the Ullestad power plant. The power plant is built with a 1600 meter long underground pipeline. The authorities (the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate) have emphasized that the most important issues are the consideration of the landscape, local interests, and biological diversity. To meet this, the technical interventions are adapted to the landscape so that the consequences are minimal. It is ensured that there is enough moisture left in the watercourse through the regulation of the minimum water flow. This will also benefit the user interests and the fish in the watercourse. To reduce the effect on the salmon-carrying section, the requirements for the installation of a bypass valve are followed.
