Salhuselva is part of the Hop River. The power plant will utilize a fall of 195 meters for about 1200 meters. The lower parts of the area affected by the development of the Salhuselva power plant are already characterized by roads, buildings, and power lines. This means that further interventions from the Salhus River are acceptable to the authorities (NVE) with a minimum water flow of 250 l/s has therefore been set for the summer season and 150 l/s for the rest of the year. Consideration for anadromous fish is taken care of through this minimum water flow, as well as when ordering a bypass valve and through an appropriate location of the power station in relation to the spawning stretch in the river.
