Vår historie
Clemens Kraft har solid økonomi og dype, norske røtter. Vår majoritetseier (50,1%) er Opplysningsvesenets fond (OVF), som siden 1821 har forvaltet store skogs- og jordeiendommer. I dag er Opplysningsvesenets fond underlagt Kulturdepartementet, og virksomheten er hjemlet i Grunnlovens §116. De resterende 49,9 % eies av CPV/CAP Pensionskasse Coop (CPV). CPV ble grunnlagt i 1909 og er pensjonsfondet til den sveitsiske Coop-gruppen. De forvalter omlag 8,5 milliarder Euro. CPV har betydelige investeringer i fornybar energi innen sol- og vindkraft, og Clemens Kraft er deres første vannkraftinvestering.
Clemens Kraft ble opprinnelig etablert for å bygge ut vannkraft der Opplysningsvesenets fond var grunneier og hadde fallrettigheter, men i dag bygger og drifter vi også småkraftverk i samarbeid med andre grunneiere. Denne utviklingen er til dels et resultat av rent økonomiske vurderinger, dels at Clemens Kraft de siste årene har vokst gjennom oppkjøp av andre småkraftselskaper. Selskapet har lagt en strategi for å nå 600 GWh produksjon i 2021.
